Welcome to GROW Housing - Urban community re-imagined.
GROW Housing is a Gordon Graff design and is being championed by Chris Tindal as a positive solution to housing needs for the new millennium. Several other organizations have provided advice and support on various aspects of this proposal.
Chris Tindal, Toronto Centre candidate in the March 17th by-election for the Green Party of Canada.
In the last federal election, his campaign increased the riding’s Green vote by a factor of 47% over the previous result. Also the party’s Democratic Reform Advocate, Chris works closely with leader Elizabeth May and other members of the Shadow Cabinet to write the platform, media releases, and issue backgrounders. The last major release from Shadow Cabinet was Vision Green, a 160 page document that outlines the Green Party’s plans for all aspects of federal governance.
Chris is an interactive media producer and former vice president of the Ontario Recreational Canoeing Association, and has lived in Toronto Centre for seven years. He also serves on the board of directors of a boys and girls residential summer camp, and is the Environmental Editor for Torontoist, a local news site. A proud member of Next Generation Energy Alternatives, Chris supports local solutions to our triple-E (energy, economy, and environment) challenges.
Chris often represents Green Party at events around town and in the media, and has appeared on TVO’s The Agenda With Steve Paikin and been a guest on several Toronto radio stations. He is a coauthor of “A Realistic Energy Plan for Toronto,” which has been endorsed by hundreds of individuals, including politicians and community leaders.
In this campaign, Chris is being endorsed by an impressive list of people from the old left/right spectrum, including former Director of Communications to Pierre Trudeau Jim McDonald, former Progressive Conservative cabinet member Phil Gillies, and former independent senator Dr. Lois Miriam Wilson.
Chris and his partner Claire are engaged to be married this summer. Chris Tindal holds a Bachelor of Arts in Radio and Television from Ryerson University.
Gord Graff, Lead Designer

Gordon Graff, Lead Designer of the GROW housing initiative, has worked with architectural firms in Toronto, New York and Honolulu.
Gordon's interest in sustainable design led in 2006 to his creation of the SkyFarm project a proposal for a vertical farm in Toronto, garnering considerable interest from the online sustainability community. The proposal was published in the Australian architecture publication BCME. SkyFarm was a high-density hydroponic farm capable of growing fresh produce within urban centres and demonstrated a system that would massively reduce both the fossil fuel consumption and space requirements of food production.
In 2007 Gordon's vision for the redesign of a downtown Kitchener, Ontario, city block was published in The Kitchener-Waterloo Record to favorable reviews as part of the Centre Block Challenge. He won a similar design competition for an intervention to a city block in Kitchener in 2004.
Gordon earned an undergrad degree in Architecture at the University of Waterloo in 2005 after previous studies in Urban Planning and Fine Arts. He is currently completing his Masters of Architecture degree at the University of Waterloo with his thesis focusing on the realization of the SkyFarm proposal.
Originally from Perth, Ontario, Gordon currently resides in Cambridge, Ontario.
